Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 03: The April 2026 Roadmap Explained

Season 03 was announced to start on April 2, 2026 at 9 AM Pacific, but its roadmap covered more than launch day. The distinction between launch, in-season and mid-season content is essential when reading the announcement.
This guide records the historical plan in the official March 25 announcement. It is not a current-season preview, a live playlist list or confirmation that every announced item shipped unchanged.
Multiplayer: nine maps across the season
| Window | Maps | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | Beacon, Abyss, Plaza, Gridlock, Mission: Trident | Mission: Trident supports the 20v20 Skirmish format. |
| Mid-season | Onsen, Summit, Hacienda, Ascent | Ascent is a Freerun map. |
The total of nine spans the season and includes different formats. When deciding what to install or revisit, identify the mode attached to the map as well as its name.
Six weapons, with three release windows
- Launch: MK35 ISR and VST.
- In-season: Strider 300 and 1911.
- Mid-season: Siren and Katana.
These were the announced timing categories. “In-season” does not mean day one, and a roadmap entry does not establish a weapon’s damage profile after later balancing.
Ion Core: timing and mode-specific costs
Ion Core was described as emitting damaging pulses that can pass through walls. The announcement placed its Multiplayer arrival in-season through a weekly challenge, with a 1,175 score cost. Its Zombies crafting cost was listed as 1,500 Salvage.
Endgame access and Operator loadouts
The announcement offered limited-time free access to Endgame. It explicitly did not include the Co-Op Campaign. Mason, Anderson, 50/50 and Samuels were the listed initial Operator choices for that free-access arrangement.
Separate loadouts for each Operator were intended to let players maintain different setups. Together with the reset systems, they expanded the options for managing ongoing progression.
Table of Contents
ToggleThree different progression consequences
| Action or event | Announced consequence |
|---|---|
| Combat Rating reset | Retains equipment, but removes Exotic and Nightmare Skills. |
| Skill-tree reset | Reduces Combat Rating by 16. |
| Wipe | The skill/Power portion of the penalty is capped at 15 CR; Exotic and Nightmare Skills can be lost separately. |
The separate skill losses matter when deciding whether to continue a risky run: the 15 CR cap applies only to the stated skill/Power portion.
Activities and abilities
The roadmap named Operation Poison Pill and the Link Forger Glitch Fracture. Its Warband skill list included Plague, Wirehand, Smuggler, Bloodrunner, Healthhounds and Steelhand.
Aether Blade was listed for launch, while Thermal Spike belonged to the mid-season plan.
Zombies: Survival, Directed and competitive survival rules
Ashwood Survival was listed for launch. Paradox Junction Directed was a guided mode for that map, with a round cap of 15, rather than a new map announcement.
Zombie Battle was described as supporting two to four players, each facing their own zombie group. The objective was to outlast the other players. The announced restrictions were important:
- Players could not directly damage one another.
- Equipment, Scorestreaks and Field Upgrades could not be used to affect rival players.
- Doors, exfil and GobbleGum were disabled.
- The last surviving player won.
This was competitive survival, not a conventional PvP firefight inside a Zombies map.
Totenreich, Wild Fire and an Ultra Legacy Weapon were part of the mid-season plan.
Warzone: a location change and movement additions
The roadmap introduced Launch Pad in place of the old Hills area. Wall Jump and Grapple were listed for launch, while Spikes were scheduled for mid-season.
These changes belong to the Warzone portion of the announcement. A shared seasonal marketing banner does not mean every movement feature or map change applies in the same way to standard Black Ops 7 Multiplayer.
How to read this roadmap now
Use it to understand the scope and timing of the April 2026 season as announced in March. For a present-day session, check the installed game’s playlists, unlock screens and later patch notes. Temporary access windows may have ended, rotations may have changed, and later balance patches may have altered the behavior of a weapon or streak.
